Are you setting up a FiveM roleplay server, or aiming for a Minecraft SMP with 100+ players? In both projects the same thing determines performance: the choice of processor. One of the most frequently asked questions when renting a game server in Turkey is "Is a Ryzen server enough for FiveM and Minecraft?" In this guide we explain, step by step, tick/TPS logic, the RAM–CPU balance, the difference between VDS and Dedicated, and which plan fits which scenario on SistemDC's Ryzen 9950X infrastructure.
On the server side, both games run on the main thread alone. In FiveM the server tick, and in Minecraft the TPS (ticks per second) value, depend directly on the CPU's single-core frequency. Many-core Intel Xeon models are strong for VM density; however, clock speeds in the 2.0–3.0 GHz range can create a bottleneck in game ticks.
| Criterion | FiveM | Minecraft (Paper) |
|---|---|---|
| CPU priority | Single-core GHz (4.0+) | Single-core GHz (4.5+ ideal) |
| RAM (32–64 players) | 8–16 GB | 6–12 GB |
| RAM (100+ players) | 32–64 GB | 16–32 GB |
| Disk | NVMe (stream asset) | NVMe (chunk I/O) |
| Network | Low ping, DDoS protection | Low ping, stable uplink |
| Recommended CPU | AMD Ryzen 9 | AMD Ryzen 9 |
On FiveM servers, performance is made up of three layers: CPU tick, RAM (asset + script cache) and disk I/O (stream files). On roleplay servers aimed at Turkey, ping should stay in the 5–15 ms range; that is why location matters at least as much as the CPU.
Ryzen VDS (9950X infrastructure) — 4 vCPU, 8–16 GB RAM. A light ESX/QBCore setup, voice included. Low monthly cost, ideal for the test and beta period.
Ryzen Dedicated R5/R7 — unshared physical cores, 32 GB RAM+. Custom MLOs, police/EMS scripts, heavy NPC traffic.
Ryzen 9 9950X Dedicated — 5.0 GHz+ boost, 64–128 GB RAM, NVMe RAID. If you are considering multiple instances or a cluster architecture, bare metal is a must.
A FiveM setup should combine the txAdmin panel, Stormwall DDoS protection and a Turkey location. For a processor comparison, see our Ryzen or Xeon? guide.
Instead of the vanilla JAR, the Paper or Purpur forks provide TPS optimization; however, the real difference is again in CPU frequency. Together with Aikar's JVM flags, a 19.8–20 TPS target is realistic on Ryzen 9 servers.
In Minecraft, lowering the view-distance and simulation-distance values matters, but so does the choice of CPU. On a Ryzen server, the combination of Aikar's flags + Paper async chunk loading should be the standard setup.

FiveM: Disable unnecessary resources, configure the OneSync settings for your player count, and schedule restarts with txAdmin.
Minecraft: In the Paper config, optimise max-auto-save-chunks and the entity activation range settings, use a per-world mob cap, and prevent memory leaks with regular restarts.
For both: Before you buy, use Looking Glass (lg.sistemdc.com) to test ping and bandwidth.
How many GHz are enough for FiveM?
Minimum 3.8 GHz; for 64+ slots and heavy script packs, Ryzen 9 9950X cores (4.3 GHz, Zen 5) are recommended.
What if Minecraft TPS drops below 20?
First check the CPU frequency; then reduce the number of plugins, the view-distance value and entity density. Moving from Ryzen VDS (9950X infrastructure) to Dedicated solves most TPS problems.
Can FiveM and Minecraft run on the same server?
Technically possible; however, because each game uses the main thread heavily, a separate VDS or dedicated server is recommended. For shared panel management you can buy two plans from the same account.
Why does a Turkey location matter?
In FiveM and Minecraft, ping above 30 ms spoils the player experience. With SistemDC's Istanbul location, the domestic target is 5–15 ms.
