Windows Server 2025 is a Windows server/client release published in 2024. Kernel/base: NT 10.0. Default components: IIS 10.5, .NET 8+, PowerShell 7, SMB over QUIC, Defender AV. In a VDS environment, Windows Server 2025 is delivered as a virtual machine with root/Administrator access and IPv4/IPv6 support, through SistemDC automatic provisioning or the KVM console. The support window means security patches are available until 2034 (estimated Extended), which makes hosting costs predictable. At the KVM hypervisor layer, dedicated vCPUs and NVMe I/O deliver consistent performance without noisy neighbours. The Windows Server 2025 VDS template comes with virtual TPM 2.0, Secure Boot compatibility and Hyper-V enlightened drivers by default. The disk layout can be extended with the NTFS/ReFS option; VSS snapshots can be used for scheduled backups. Monitor CPU/RAM bottlenecks with Event Viewer and Performance Monitor. Repeatable server configuration with IIS Application Pool recycling, an MSSQL max memory cap and PowerShell Desired State Configuration (DSC) is recommended in enterprise environments. Thanks to SistemDC's Turkey location, the local user experience is preserved in Azure/AWS hybrid scenarios with ExpressRoute-like low latency.
Choose Windows Server 2025 if…
When? A more mature ecosystem
When? Desktop GUI
When? Linux web/API
Typical use cases for a Windows Server 2025 VDS: modern .NET 8 microservices, Azure Arc hybrid, containerised IIS, an up-to-date AD CS/PKI lab. Thanks to the Turkey location, local users get a fast TTFB with 5–15 ms ping domestically. On Ryzen VDS plans, high single-core GHz is preferred for game servers and GUI applications. With SistemDC NVMe disks, random-I/O-heavy database queries see 5–10x lower latency than on an HDD VDS. Under heavy traffic the Stormwall DDoS filter kicks in automatically at the network layer. For CDN origin, reverse proxy caching and static asset delivery, optimise the Nginx/Apache configuration on Windows Server 2025 with HTTP/2 and Brotli compression; for users in Turkey, the origin location directly improves the SEO Core Web Vitals LCP score.
When ordering a SistemDC VDS, choose Windows Server 2025 template. The first RDP connection is made with the Administrator account; change the password immediately. Add roles in Server Manager (IIS, MSSQL). Set the time zone to Turkey: tzutil /s "Turkey Standard Time". Run Windows Update. Make sure NLA is enabled in the Remote Desktop settings. Disk partitioning: you can attach an additional data disk alongside the OS C: drive. Installing PowerShell 7 is recommended for modern automation: winget install Microsoft.PowerShell.
RDP security: change the default port 3389 or put it behind a VPN/WireGuard. NLA (Network Level Authentication) should be mandatory; use only strong passwords and, if possible, apply an additional IP restriction from the SistemDC panel. Windows Firewall: open the RDP, HTTP/HTTPS and application ports with a whitelist; delete unnecessary inbound rules. Windows Update: keep automatic updates on; apply critical patches in a reboot window. Keep real-time protection on with Defender or a corporate EDR. Rename the local Administrator account; keep UAC at the highest level.
On a Windows VDS, sleep mode must be disabled. If the server goes to sleep, the RDP connection drops, IIS/SQL services stop and the 24/7 uptime SLA is breached. PowerShell: powercfg /change standby-timeout-ac 0 and powercfg /change hibernate-timeout-ac 0. Control Panel → Power Options → choose the High performance plan; set 'Put the computer to sleep' to Never (always on).
When ordering a VDS in the SistemDC panel, choose the Windows Server 2025 template. For .NET, MSSQL, RDP desktops and Active Directory test environments, use the Windows VDS category — for game servers such as FiveM/Minecraft, Ryzen Windows VDS plans offer higher single-core performance. Application setups: setup guides.
What is WS2025 hotpatching?
Some critical patches can be applied without a reboot (with Azure Arc).
Moving from 2022 to 2025?
On a VDS, a clean install + data migration is recommended.
In-place upgrade from 2022 to 2025?
Although possible, a clean install + data migration is recommended on a VDS.
What are the hardware requirements for a WS2025 VDS?
TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot are provided virtually in the VDS template.
Container support?
Windows Containers + a Docker/WSL2 backend make hybrid Linux containers possible.
Turkey location · Stormwall DDoS · NVMe disk · 99.98% uptime SLA
