How do I connect to a dedicated server via IPMI / KVM?

Short answer: IPMI/KVM gives console access even when the OS is down. Credentials are on the service detail; open the IPMI UI and launch the HTML5/Java console.

Steps

Copy the IPMI URL, username and password from the service detail.
Open the IPMI URL in a browser (usually HTTPS).
Sign in with those credentials.
Open Remote Console / KVM / HTML5.
You should see BIOS or the OS screen; keyboard and mouse work remotely.
